
GENNIE GORBACK
Gennie (pronounced "Jenny") Gorback is an Early Childhood Educator with a Masters of Education in Teaching and a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from University of California, Santa Barbara. She's held the Program Director Permit, which is the highest level of Child Development Permit given by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. She has been working with young children for 15+ years with a focus on the Pre-K/TK age group (4 and 5 year olds). She is the founder and (only) consultant at Kindling Education.

Gennie writes phonemic awareness and phonics curriculum for the Science of Reading based early literacy program Sound Town. ​She supports educators by promoting learning through play and developmentally appropriate practices through her work on the Board of Directors for the California Kindergarten Association.

Gennie lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her college sweetheart, two young daughters, and two cats. In her spare time, she writes books for children and adults.
